Hi,
I've been having major roof problems with my `88 Class C Coachmen MH. The last few years an
electrolysis condition has occurred. Many small holes are forming from underneath the aluminum
roof. Seems that every time I check the roof, more holes appear. Other than replace the roof
~$3800, what else can be done? I already notice that I have some dry rot as a side effect from
leakage. I may decide to cover the entire roof with white sealer to prevent further damage, sell it and
upgrade to a class A with out a flat roof, so water can drain off.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, as I would like to use it without fear of drowning inside.

Hi. Your home page was excellent. I will let all my other RVing friends know about it!

I am interested in RV rentals. It seems reasonable to me that a "rental" is the way to go before
investing great sums into buying. A trip of three to five days should be enough time to assess whether
RVs are for you or some other form of transportation is appropriate to get around the country. I live
outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and would be interested in sources to contact about RV rentals.
Another question comes to mind and that relates to the size of the RV. In my case, there are two
adults. The kids have long flown the coop. As I approach retirement it seems like an exciting way to
see the USA. In years past we experienced a lot of tent camping to see parts of this country,
especially important to the children when they were younger. Thank you for whatever assistance you
may provide.

I am considering buying an RV ... I would like to hear experienced RVer's comment on why they chose
to tow an RV or why they chose a self propelled RV. Do they like their decision? What are the most
important/useful features in an RV according to experienced RVer's? Thanks.

RVRA Officially Opens Web Site with Ribbon Cutting

In March the RV Rental Association's web site went on line following a ribbon cutting
ceremony performed by Burt Alanko, chairman of RVRA, and president of MBA Insurance. Also on
hand at the ceremony were Sue Caldwell, co-owner of MBA; Dan Holt, CEO, Web Site Management,
Inc. (WSM); and Don Magary, president, WSM. WSM designed and created the Web Site for RVRA.
RVRA's web site offers a complete roster of RVRA members in the U.S and Canada where
visitors to the site use a map to select where they want to pick up a rental vehicle and are then linked
to a list of rental dealers in that state or Canada. In addition, the site features background
information on the association, as well as tips to renters on what type of RV might suit their needs
best. Also included is the RVRA's Rental Ventures, a magazine that offers tips on RVing, travel,
etiquette and other useful information for experienced RV renters or first timers.
Alanko said, "I'm really proud of our web site and excited about the possibilities of the
Internet for our industry. The web site is an additional benefit to our members, and developing the
Internet presence was a cost effective way to give our members a world wide exposure to potential
customers."
Alanko invited RV industry members to drop by the RVRA web site and take a look. RVRA's
internet address is:

Koehn Joins Web Site Management
Steve Koehn, former national sales manager, Automatic Equipment Manufacturing Co., and
more recently, president, RV Marketing Services, has joined Web Site Management, Inc., as vice
president sales and marketing. In addition to being one of the RV industry's leading authorities on
Internet marketing, Koehn brings an extensive background in sales, marketing and training to his
new role. He will manage sales relating to RV America On Line, as well as develop and present
seminars relating to marketing on the Internet.
Dan Holt, CEO, Web Site Management, Inc., said, "Steve's background, which includes owning
his own advertising agency in Houston, TX, brings an important dimension to RV America. As our
industry em-barks on using the Internet as a marketing and training tool, Steve can help guide large
and small companies as they begin their on line experience. By doing so their efforts will be
rewarded and the Internet will become an effective tool for increasing business. His more than ten
years RV industry experience and contacts, coupled with his expertise on Internet marketing makes
him a valuable resource to the entire industry."
RV America Web Site Going Strong
The traffic on RV America On Line, a Web Site Management, Inc., web site continues to pick
up steam both in terms of adding new web sites as well as visitors to the site. According to Dan Holt,
CEO, WSM, new customers are being added almost daily. He said, "In the past few weeks, we have
completed the work on several web sites that are on the RV America server. Those include Norcold,
RV Rental Association, RV Ventures, RV Lifestyles Electronic Magazine, Kieffers RV Center, Grace
Manufacturing, Posts Traveland, Fiamma Awnings, Stalkups RV Superstore, JLG Enterprises, and
others."
Holt added that industry members are visiting the site and he is encouraged by the number of
e-mail messages wanting to know how to get their companies on the Internet under the RV America
umbrella or wanting to know if they can move their pages from another server to RV America.
Holt said, "What we are really pleased about is the way that consumers and industry
members are getting involved. Every day, we get e-mail messages asking questions about different
aspects of the RV lifestyle or questions about how to find parts for their RV. Right now I'd have to say
the traffic is exceeding our expectations, since we have only been on line for about a month.
"If there is a problem it's being able to guide these consumers to companies under the RV
America umbrella. We're so new that we haven't gotten a lot of companies on line yet, and those
companies not participating are missing opportunities by not having a presence on RV America. My
message to our industry is, if you think that marketing on the Internet is something that is going to
be happening in the future, you're behind the times. It's happening now and those companies that are
participating may be pioneering this new marketing medium, but they are also the ones who are
reaping the benefits.:

NetCom Adds Benefits to RV America On Line Internet Access Offer
NetCom, a national network providing local access telephone service to users of the Internet,
has informed Web Site Management, Inc., that their service is even more beneficial than before. The
40-hours of prime time access has been eliminated so NetCom customers now have unlimited access
to the Internet with not time restrictions.
NetCom and RV America are working a promotion that allows people to get free Internet
NetCruiser software from RV America and sign up for NetCom's service. NetCom has waived the $25
set up charge to RV America customers and is giving the first month of service to users at only $5.
After that, the unlimited access reverts to $19.95 per month. In areas where there are no local access
numbers, such as rural areas or low population centers, users pay an hourly rate of under $5 per
hour.
According to Dan Holt, CEO, Web Site Management, Inc., "This makes the local access service
less expensive than any service that we have heard of, and we are happy to pass the opportunity along
to the RV industry."
To receive free NetCruiser software fill out the self addressed application located on the
special card in this issue of RV News and either mail or fax it to RV America.
