Like their shock absorbers, the Bilstein Steering Dampers feature a unique single-tube gas pressure design in which internal damping fluid is placed under nitrogen gas pressure and is separated by a moveable dividing piston. The constant pressure eliminates all cavitation of the fluid, the cause of lost operating efficiency in twin-tube dampers. Bilstein steering dampers also include a perfectly extruded inner tube surface, a case-hardened and highly polished steel piston rod and the industry's largest, 1-1/2" diameter, Digressive Piston Head which is patented for exact damping and consistent long-life performance. These dampers allow for increased safety with exact damping response and control of steering component movements resulting from bumps, potholes, side winds and front tire blowouts. Available for all GM P30 series motorhome chassis, Bilstein steering dampers also reduce wear on front suspension components as well as wheels and tires. They also eliminate steering wheel vibration to reduce driver fatigue.
