It was a journey that began in August 1975 when a young Dan Holt ventured to dream – dreamed that the RV industry needed and wanted an RV publication that focused on service and the aftermarket and dreamed he had the entrepreneurial fortitude make it happen.
His dreams were fulfilled. And when Holt retired in October, RV News had just completed its 30th consecutive year.
For Dan it was never a solo trip. Everyday during those 30 years his partner and wife, Carmel, was at his side. She also retired in October.
Through the years, Dan became one of the most recognized and liked people in the industry. Partly because of what he did, but more so, because it was apparent to everyone that Dan loves the RV industry and worked everyday to improve it.
Dan entrepreneurship didn’t end with RV News, he also founded RV Technician magazine and the RV Aftermarket Expo, both later sold to the RV Dealers Association (RVDA). And then in 1995 when the commercial use of the Internet was in its infancy, he co-founded Web Site Management, Inc., and started RV America On Line™, the most successful independent RV portal site in the world
