Humming a Happy Tune in Harrisburg

When most people in the country are celebrating the end of summer with the passing of the Labor Day holiday weekend, the Northeast continues the festivities with the largest RV show in the country in Harrisburg, PA. The diminutive little lady, Becky Lenington, PRVCA Executive Vice- President, has slowly, steadily, and successfully grown the Harrisburg extravaganza into one of the most respected trade and consumer shows in our industry. The show, held at the newly expanded State Farm Complex in Harrisburg, has become an annual trek for thousands of serious RVers up and down the East Coast. Did you miss it?

Editorial
Investment Strategy

You have to spend money to make money, and that appears to be the strategy of many RV dealers throughout the country as they make major investments in new property, new buildings and a new image The return on investment for most of these dealers is going to be increased traffic to the new and improved facility, new customers, increased service revenue, expanded parts and accessories stores, and a new image for the RV lifestyle business opportunities. Dealers are to be commended for stepping up and meeting the demands of the consumer. Are you keeping pace with the demands of the consumers?

Salesmanship
Help Wanted

As the industry continues to reinvent itself to meet consumer demands, we must evaluate all aspects of the business operations to make sure that we are putting the best team on the field at all times. New facilities, new ideas, new products and new ways of doing business are cropping up everyday. Manufacturers are delivering some of the most exciting RVs in years, packed with creature comforts and marvels of technology that were dreams and ideas just a few short years ago. Maybe it’s time to take another look at the sales or maybe it’s time to hang out the Help Wanted sign.
