In the search for the ultimate solution in RV entertainment, information, and security—a true gem has been uncovered.
The Open Road Media Center has the unique ability to provide RV enthusiasts with everything you demand in one userfriendly, stylish system. The size of a standard DVD player, the Open Road Media Center far exceeds the capabilities. From the comfort of the RV couch, dining table or bed, you can play or burn DVD’s and CD’s, surf the web, check e-mail, record and playback favorite TV shows, and even see what’s going on in your
home or office with Open Road Media Center’s state-of-the-art security software.
The system is controlled by an custom-designed remote control or wireless mouse with Bluetooth technology (not included) and long-range wireless keyboard. Media Center systems are a truly innovative breakthrough in home theater technology. Instead of purchasing entire racks of dedicated equipment controlled by several remotes, having a single media center allows you to have all of those features and capabilities in such a small, easy-to-use package -- controlled by one remote. For once, here's a product which addresses all your entertainment, information, and security needs, in a compact unit plus it's affordable. It even comes with Wheelers RV Resort and Campground Guide already installed and ready to use.
The Open Road Media Center in it's totality is the brain child of Lawrence Michelson, president, Cubic Motion, Inc., and Ross Van Vlear, vice president, marketing, two friends from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, who were raised as RV enthusiasts. Their vision was to have an all-in-one entertainment and information system that reduced the clutter of current RV theaters, while exceeding the RV owner's expectations in performance and ease of use.
Michelson and Van Vlear traveled to RV News’ offices in Arizona recently to demonstrate their system and we went to World Wide RV in Mesa to install the system in a Jayco Motorhome. David Skogebo, general manager of World Wide RV, had good things to say about the system and agreed that RVers would benefit by buying the Open Road Media
Center. Skogebo was especially impressed with the ease of installation, pointing out that
service technician time is major consideration for RV dealers when considering offering any
new options and felt that the whole system could be installed in about an hour.
RV News also observed that it’s simple enough for most RVers to be able to install it themselves too.
According to Michelson, powerful does not have to mean difficult and using state-of-the-art technology should not be rocket science. He said, “Early on, we recognized that peace-of-mind is a must while on the road.” That’s when they decided that the Open Road Media Center should be equipped with an advanced security software, fifteen years in development.
Michelson added, “This software is used by financial institutions and government agencies around the world and now, for its debut in the US consumer market, it is included with the Open Road Media Center. And the inclusion of Wheelers RV Resort & Campground Guide guarantees that one is never at a loss for camping/lodging information.”
The Open Road Media Center features are impressive. It can be used as a DVD player putting out the best image quality available (1080p), and 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. Windows Media Center provides an incredible array of media management and access. The system organizes and displays music, videos, and photos downloaded.
You can even take your memory sticks from digital cameras and input them directly into specially designed slots of the system. You can even
print pictures to your printer or watch home videos on the HD Television in your RV.
Open Road Media Center also comes with WIFI and LAN cards built in, but for when you are away from a campground, it can switch to mobile internet
using a wireless provider in motion. With thousands of free online stations, internet radio, video, and streaming videos are now within easy reach.
And no more worrying about where to stay for the night, thanks to Wheelers Guide. This interactive database places information on over 15,000 RV parks, resorts, and campgrounds at your fingertips.
A simple plug in of a GPS receiver turns this system into a navigator, while helping you along with gas prices, weather information and much more.
Once you are parked, rest assured that Goal Video Surveillance software is watching your back by monitoring feeds from cameras around you and in your home or business back home.
All of this and more is being brought to you at an affordable price and in an easy to use and navigate interface.
Van Vlear said, "The personal computer revolution failed to recognize and accommodate the unique needs of RVers. The Open Road Media Center wraps the latest computer technology around a solid entertainment center providing the RVer with a unique, one-unit solution that delivers targeted information as well as entertainment integrated into the RV's existing systems."
Open Road Media Center is being offered both to OEMs as well as the RV aftermarket.
