Vehicle License Plates as Calling Cards

Dallas, TX – Delta Meridian Inc announced recently it is now testing a new network called SameLane which enables riders in vehicles on any roadway to make social cell phone calls to riders in other vehicles by simply calling a premium charge phone line and entering the license plate of the vehicle in view they wish to contact.

Note: It can be found on Same Lane

The SameLane network has two component parts. A web site www.samelane.com where anyone in the US or Canada can register at no charge their vehicle license plate and cell phone number. Once they register they can purchase for a nominal fee at a nationwide distribution outlet a bumper sticker or rear window transparent decal which will let other road users know they can make calls to the rider in the vehicle by calling a premium charge phone number.

The second component is the premium charge phone (900) system which has an IVR voice response system linked to the service web site. Callers are prompted to enter the license plate number of the vehicle they wish to contact. The SameLane system employs patent pending technology which enables callers to use one keystroke for any character or number, so avoiding the tedious multiple keystrokes normally required to send characters or numbers when sending SMS text messages. The SameLane system proprietary software is able to distinguish between similar keystroke license plate combinations such as ABC123, BCA123, CBA123 etc and find the intended plate number. The software can also distinguish between the exact same license plate number combination in different states or provinces.

A unique feature of the SameLane system is its ability to connect cell phone calls between vehicle riders without either party knowing the other’s cell phone number. In a social call environment on any roadway vehicle riders will now be able to chat to each other, much the same way they might do while sitting on a plane to pass the time of day, without having to reveal each other’s identity unless they choose to do so in conversation.

So at SameLane we’re putting adventure back into driving. You may not be able to escape long commutes or mile long traffic jams but we can remove the walls of steel and glass that separate you from socializing with other road users in the same situation.

Commiserate, share a joke, talk football or basketball or even politics, maybe flirt, whatever. It’s all possible with SameLane.

Just about every one in the USA and Canada who rides in a car or a truck has a cell phone. Now for the first time they will be able to call the rider in the vehicle in front* by simply calling the SameLane mobile line and entering the other vehicle license plate number. It’s really that simple. It’s fully automatic and within a minute you could be chatting on your cell phone to a rider in the other vehicle.

Beta Testing of the network is scheduled to be completed by the end of April when the service will be launched and made available to the public.

NOTE:Vehicles need to be registered with SameLane to receive calls from riders in other vehicles.
