Riverview, FL - The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) recently completed the 22nd Annual Florida RV SuperShow (January 17-21) at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Five perfect days of weather added up to a record crowd. Just over 49,000 people attended the SuperShow and manufacturers, dealers, service and supplier companies reported excellent sales.
“We added quite a few new special events and brought back a number of things that helped us with our PR coverage,” said FRVTA Marketing Director David Kelly. “The World’s Largest RV Sand Sculpture was a huge hit and helped increase traffic in the Arena Complex. Gary Burghoff (Radar from the M*A*S*H TV show) drew big crowds in the Supplier Building and the 2-story Anderson Mobile Estates (owned by Will Smith) also was a crowd pleaser. We’ve already begun planning special features for the 2008 SuperShow and we’re excited about the public’s response to the events we had this year.”
New to the seminar schedule was “Full Time and Extended RV Travel Tips” presented by Bob Marx. This seminar introduced a new speaker to the seminar schedule along with John Holod and his video productions of “RVing the East Coast”, “RVing the Gulf Coast” and “Alaska RV Adventure”.
Entertainment at the 2007 SuperShow included old favorites like the St. Andrews Bag Pipe Band, Blaze the Balloon Blowing Goat, Fritzy Brothers One Man Circus and Arneberg’s Super Dog Show as well as new comers KG and the Ranger performing rope tricks next to their covered wagon being pulled by an armadillo and the Sweeny Family Band. “If someone wants to perform at the SuperShow, they need to have an angle that people don’t see in everyday life,” said Kelly. “We start looking for entertainers for next year’s show as soon as the show ends.”
