“The People Are Always Happy”
at Camp Blanco RV Park

The RV industry is quickly becoming a next generation lifestyle for many across the US. Cross-country trips and weekend adventures are attracting more and more of America’s younger couples and families with today’s ‘virtual homes on wheels’. The availability and affordability of what was thought of in the past as retirement play, has become a popular way for families young and old to enjoy time together on the road. This trend is also gradually changing the demographics of campground and RV park operators nationwide, luring a new breed of entrepreneurial business owners to this great way of life.

The search began in mid 2003 for Jeff and Angie MacFarlane of Redding, California, the hunt for their new home and business in the ever-growing RV world. Jeff had always wanted to own his own business and had dreamed of someday owning his own RV park. “The people are always happy and it looked like a great way of life.” Jeff said. After an 800 mile motorcycle tour up Highway 101 the couple fell in love with the scenery and relaxed pace of the beautiful Oregon coast. “We wanted to find a great place to raise our children, and where we knew people would visit throughout the year in RV’s. We simply thought about where we went in our own RV and that’s what brought us here.” Jeff said. Jeff and Angie have 3 children, Matthew, Miranda and Mason.

The MacFarlanes looked at many parks in several states including California, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. “We just kept coming back to Oregon’s south coast and that’s where we found the perfect match, Camp Blanco RV Park.” Angie said. “It had everything we wanted including a large on-site home built in 1910 (which was also the town’s hospital/medical clinic from about 1920 to 1940), a huge shop for vehicles and equipment, and schools nearby. We also saw an incredible number of RV travelers flocking to escape the heat of the inland valleys in the summertime, and the RV snowbirds detouring around the snow and ice of Interstate 5 in the winter.” read more>>>
