Transportation
Transformation

Could the RV industry finally have a real contender to transform the way RVers transport themselves around RV resorts, campgrounds and the local neighborhood?

Many RVers don’t really like towing a vehicle behind their motorhome. It is a practice long endured because they need basic transportation once they have arrived at their destination. If they really dislike the idea of a car behind a motorhome, they may actually opt for a pick-up truck and fifth wheel or a car/trailer combination that may be more to their liking.

A small Rhode Island company, eGO Vehicles, Inc., may have finally provided the long awaited solution for a transportation transformation in the RV and campground industry.

Herb Reeves, Jr. "He just couldn’t hold a job!"

While Herbert M. Reeves Jr. was still in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II, he bought a small travel trailer. In a very few trips he fell in love with the entire travel trailer lifestyle. When he was discharged, in 1946, he returned home to Kankakee, IL and opened Reeves Trailer Sales to provide his friends and neighbors with the opportunity to enjoy the RV experience as he had in the short time he had to experience the freedom. His retail experience grew and was successful, but in 1950, he demonstrated an industry "wanderlust" much like the early pioneers of our country. He left Kankakee, moved to Elkhart, IN, and started up the Florence Stove Distributing Company. In 1958, Reeves changed horses again and he reestablished the Covered Wagon brand as a travel trailer manufacturer. In 1965 totally changed directions again and opened the Arrowhead Park Campground in southern MI.

Full-Length RV-SuperSlide™ Introduced by RBW & SkyDeck

The RBW SuperSlide moves the sidewalls of an RV apart to form true home-like spacious interiors nearly the full length of the RV. Moreover, when two SuperSlides replace four or five conventional slideouts in an RV, costs, complexity, and weight goes down. SkyDeck Industries LLC, a high-technology vehicle design firm, announced the multiple pending patents and development of the SuperSlide last year. SkyDeck licensed RBW Industries, Inc. as the exclusive technology partner in bringing the new SuperSlide System into the market. The SuperSlide is an element from the multiple patents for Comprehensive RV Construction Systems, which include the rooftop SkyDeck,
