Cover Story
A Tough Act to Follow:
Fowler after Fowler

Without a doubt, the most challenging assignment in business today is to follow in the footsteps of a successful family member who leaves you a business that is well run, profitable, and the envy of many of their competitors. This was not the case in January 1999 when Hal Fowler decided to enjoy the fruits of his labor and stepped out of the day-to-day operations of DTI RV & Marine Parts and Appliances. That was when he decided to turn the business over to his son, Jess, and named him president of the company. Under Jess’ leadership the Indiana based company has flourished.  Now with branches in Texas, California and Florida DTI is capturing more and more market share as it plans future expansion.

Preserve, Protect and Invest

The preservation of our past allows others to plan for the future. Our industry received an urgent plea from the RV/MH Heritage Foundation just as we were preparing to go to press. Carl Ehry, president of the foundation and caretaker of the Hall of Fame, alerted the industry to the possible sale of David Woodworth’s entire irreplaceable collection of 36 vintage RVs to a public museum that is not even related to the RV industry. Find out how you can help.
