| Dealers should consider hosting the weighing seminar and
being the first in their area to educate prospects, customers and internal employees on
weight related issues. John's traveling teams are filling up their show schedule for 2000
very quickly. If you are considering such an event, you should contact A ' Weigh We Go and
see when, and if, they might be in
your area of the country. Several dealers have taken a leadership position in the RV community and should be commended for their efforts. They are: DeWalt's RV (Easton, PA); Parkview RV (Wilmington, OH); Tom Stinnett RV Center (Clarksville, IN); Stoltzfus RV & Marine (West Chester, PA); Capital RV (Bismarck, ND); Tom Raper RV (Richmond, IN); and Pike's Peak Traveland (Colorado Springs, CO.) In 1999 A ' Weigh We Go attended 55 RV events, presented Safety Seminars 77 times, and weighed 1,772 RV's, not including tow vehicles and towed cars. Why not consider joining this forward thinking group of dealers and schedule a seminar at your dealership? You can reach John Anderson at 423-257-7985.
Go RVing - Life's a Trip . . . I'm not going to say as much about this program this year as we did last year, but we are going to encourage every dealer in the country to sign up and pay the $125 and get on board. The industry is going to spend $40 million for you . . . you should spend $125 for yourself. This is your program. Pay $125 and you get the leads . . . pay nothing and you get nothing. Heck, if I was a sales rep at your dealership and you wouldn't pay the $125, then I would pay it myself and take all the leads they want to send my way. You've watched from the sidelines long enough, get in the game. Visit the Go RVing web site at: www.GoRVing.com. Jump Start Your Sales Promotions . . . I had an opportunity to interview Scott Joseph, president and CEO of J&L Marketing of Louisville, KY. Scott's company has pioneered some exciting advancements in direct mail advertising for dealer sponsored sales events. Dealing primarily with automobile and RV dealerships, J&L will deliver an overwhelming amount of people to your sales lot and manage the entire process. The key to their success is the sales process and being able to control the activity during the day of the sale. Scott quoted some pretty impressive numbers for several RV dealerships who have contracted with his company to stage a spectacular sales event and increase traffic and sales far greater than a normal business day. The average investment is less than $8,000 for the total program and will vary depending on the size of the mailing and event.
One large big city dealer has held six promotions so far. At one event the dealer sold 58 RV's in a three day sale and came back two weeks later and held another sale, and sold another 62 RV's. Sounds like a very good return on investment. continued RVN |
