Bendix Expands Air
Brake School Curriculum

2005 Class Schedule

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC announces its 2005 schedule for Air Brake Training School, emphasizing an expanded curriculum and additional locations.

Tailored to both new and experienced technicians, the Bendix Air Brake Training School offers a curriculum that covers the fundamentals of compressed air, air system failure mode diagnosis tactics and troubleshooting. In addition, this year's classes feature exercises that emphasize hands-on opportunities for the participants.

Last year the team of Bendix air brake experts trained over 8,000 people, equaling just over 40,000 student hours.

Expanding the geographic reach of the program, Bendix is adding nine new cities to this year's class schedule. The new locations are Trussville, AL; Santa Anna, CA; Fredrick, MD; Springfield, MA; Pittsburgh; York, PA; Houston; San Antonio, TX; and Tacoma, WA.

The 100 percent ASE-certified Bendix Service, Warranty and Training (SWAT) team conducts as many as 29 three-day, in-depth product schools each year. Specialized, on-site fleet training is also available.

"Bendix training schools are an excellent way of staying current with technical training as it relates to the air brake system, and the positive feedback we receive from attendees confirms their value," said John Reid, SWAT team manager. "Our tech team has long been recognized for providing the highest standards of technical training."

The all-inclusive course incorporates description, operation and service elements for the total range of components found within dual air brake systems. Additional topics covered include the latest developments in antilock braking systems and new disc brake technology. In addition to classroom lectures, operational air brake demonstration boards, cutaways and visual aids are incorporated to demonstrate the components and related systems.

Training locations and times as well as registration information can be obtained by visiting www.bendix.com or by calling 1-800-AIR-BRAKE (1-800-257- 2725) and selecting option 5. Class size is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Bendix Air Brake Training School costs $200 per attendee ($300 in Canadian funds). All course materials are provided. Lunch is included when the class meets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Transportation and lodging is the responsibility of the student. Dress code is casual.
