Next month the industry migrates to Pennsylvania for the 29th Annual Pennsyl-vania RV and Cam-ping Show. Accord-ing to Larry Mellott, show chairman, this show is now among the 200 largest trade shows in the country as ranked by Trade-show Week. Mellot said, "No one in the industry can afford to miss the exhibits, the education, the entertainment and the excitement."

The show opens for trade days on September 8-9 and then to the public from September 10 through 14. Again this year, the show will be at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The highlights of the Trade Days portion of the show include exhibits, seminars, and information. This part of the show is open to dealers, campground owners, lend-ers, service/repair companies and the press.

A "Supplier Open House" will be held in the exhibit hall from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening. The following morning, the annual "Red Carpet Breakfast" will be held at the Harrisburg Marriott Hotel Ballroom at 7:30 a.m., September 9, featuring Baseball Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench. Bench had a spectacular career with the Cincinnati Reds and is now a sports broadcaster. Admission to this breakfast is by show badge, but advance registration is required. As a PRVCA PAC fund raising event, Bench will autograph baseballs for $25 (limited to 75 balls).

PRVCA will not disappoint those who look forward to the industry party. The traditional event is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Harrisburg Marriott Ballroom starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be a buffet followed by a full evening of entertainment, including juggler/comedian, Mark Nizer and impressionist, Joey Van.

In addition to the social events, the show offers a wide variety of educational opportunities.

Tom Nate, Nate Training Systems, will present a special seminar on merchandising on Monday, September 8, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Nate’s presentation is entitled "Value Migration .... Increase Your Profits, No Matter What Competition You Face". The fee of $25 covers the seminar, materials, and a lunch.

Mellott said, "With well over half a million square feet of new products, timely and important seminars, and the opportunity to network with your peers, it’s little wonder that this show has grown to become on of the nation’s top shows."
