One of the additional benefits of selling recreational park trailers
are the profitable add-on products that make a lot of sense to
the consumer who has just purchased their new RV. One of the
most popular options are three-season rooms that add additional
space and enjoyment to the RPT.
A recreational park trailer can not exceed 400 square feet, but
you can expand the living quarters with the installation of virtually
maintenance-free structures that add value to the RPT. One of
the leading providers of awnings and room enclosures for RPT’s is
Silver-Top Manufacturing Company of White Marsh, Maryland
(www.silver-top.com).
Silver-Top has been manufacturing quality, low-maintenance
awnings and room enclosures since 1947. Thoughtful design and
precision engineering of modular components make it possible for
consumers to add additional space, or a complete room at once, to
their RPT. In some cases, you can almost double your living space
with a room enclosure … a 16’ X 20’ room will provide your customers
with 320 additional square feet of living space to the RV.
The most popular Silver-Top
model is the Cameo Room, a
great three season addition to
any RPT. In fact, it’s the one I
chose to add-on to our
Breckenridge RPT that we enjoy
every weekend from May to
October at the Wild Duck
Campground in Maine.
And in the interest of fair
and balanced journalism; I didn’t
tell either Breckenridge or
Silver-Top about my purchases
until they were paid for and set
up on my lot.
Purchasers of RPT’s will
often add decks, room enclosures,
air conditioning, skirting,
and even some landscaping to
finish off the site improvements
at the campground or RV resort.
Dealers have an opportunity to
provide some or all of these services,
or work with local cotractors
and earn a commission or
finders fee to supplement the
customer’s original purchase.
