Golden Shovels in hand, management and employees of Bill Waits RV Super Center take part in the official groundbreaking
ceremonies. With Interstate 95 literally passing by in the backyard of the new Bill Waits RV Super Center,
the 25,000 square foot dealership with ten Super Service Bays will offer ‘At-the-exit’ easy access. |
Groundbreaking for the largest RV
dealership and service center on the
‘Atlantic Coast Freeway’ took place recently
at the site located at Exit 102, I-95 and US
80, near Savannah, Georgia.
Bill Waits RV Super Center, when completed
in July, will increase its physical
plant and inventory of motor homes, fifth
wheels and pull-behind travel trailers by
more than two and a half times and will be
the largest recreational vehicle dealership
and service center located directly adjacent
to the East Coast’s most traveled route.
“There is a great deal of motor home
traffic passing Savannah on I-95,” according
to Bill Waits, owner of Bill Waits RV
World, soon to become known as Bill Waits
RV Super Center. “With our new 25,000
square foot facilities, we will be able to better
accommodate the sales and service
needs of the ever-increasing flow of motor
home travelers going both North and
South, as well as our local customers”,
Waits said, using his golden shovel to point
toward I-95 traffic passing adjacent to the
site.
“Our intention is make our dealership a
‘must-stop’ destination for those RV travelers,
and while here, we will help them discover
Savannah and encourage them to
spend time and money in the area”.
“We also expect to hire up to fifty new
employees in the next year in positions of
sales, service and support” according to
Manny Acosta, General Manager. “We fully
expect our business to triple within 2
years”.
Construction has begun on the seven
acre site featuring ten Super Service Bays
able to accommodate the largest motor
homes on the road today for any service
needs. “And a well-stocked parts and
accessories department to support many
other RV names, in addition to our primary
brands”, said Acosta.
Bill Waits RV Super Center will continue
to offer its major RV brands, including:
Winnebago gas and diesel motor homes,
Keystone RV, Forest River and Glendale
RV. “We will also have the largest inventory
of Bill Waits Certified Pre-owned motor
homes, fifth wheels and travel trailers on
the East Coast, along with parts and service
RV owners need to enjoy their lifestyle
worry-free”, said Waits.
Bill Waits started in the business at the
young age of 12, working for Waits RV
Center in Stewart, Florida, the dealership
owned by his father. “At shows, he made
me wear a name tag that said Ask Me. You
learn in a hurry when you have to”, Bill
said with a smile. He opened his first RV
dealership in 1987 at age 30. The
Savannah dealership was opened in 1989.
Bill Waits RV Super Center plans its
Grand Opening in July. The public will be
invited. “We hope you’ll be seeing some fireworks
a few days early this year”, said Bill.
