Towable RVs Shipments of all towable RVs were reported at 16,900 units in January, up 7.6% above this same month last year. Conventional travel trailers improved 6.6% on shipments of 8, 100 units in January. Fifthwheel travel trailers posted shipments of 4, 600 units, their second highest January ever. Folding camping trailers were even with last January and truck campers improved 14.3% to 800 units. Motorhomes Shipments to retailers of all motorhomes were reported at 4,400 units in January, up 25.7% from this same month last year. Shipments of all type A -conventional motorhomes improved 20.8% to 2,900 units. This month saw type B motorhomes increase by 50% and type C motorhomes increase by 33.3% on shipments of 300 units and 1,200 units respectively, compared to the same month one year ago.Conversion Vehicles Shipments to retailers of all conversion vehicles were reported at 4,000 units in January, off 23. 1%compared to this same month last year. Van conversions were off just 6.1 %with wholesale shipments of 3,100 units. Pickup truck conversions and sport utility conversions were off to a much greater extent, dropping a combined 52.6% compared to January 2001.
