National Geographic Publishes RV and Camping
Road Atlas for United States and Canada.
More than 30 million recreational
vehicle enthusiasts and an even
greater number of tent campers in the
United States have an exciting new
resource with the release this month of
"National Geographic Road Atlas - RV
& Camping Edition." The most comprehensive
road atlas of its kind, it features
detailed road maps of all 50 U.S.
states and Canada; profiles of 22
national parks; state and provincial
park listings; descriptions of 36 popular
scenic drives; and more than 3,700
state-by-state RV park and campground
listings provided by the
National Association of RV Parks and
Campgrounds (ARVC).
The full-color, 272-page "National Geographic Road Atlas - RV &
Camping Edition" (ISBN 1-59775-000-X, May 2005) is available at retail
bookstores and specialty outdoor retailers, and can be ordered online at
www.ngmapstore.com or by calling (800) 962-1643. Recommended retail
price is $25.
'The National Geographic Road Atlas - RV & Camping Edition' is
more than a tool to help RV and camping enthusiasts plan their journeys,"
said Fran Marshall, president, National Geographic Maps. "It will
inspire travelers to hit the road this summer and experience the adventure
of a lifetime."
"This is a beautiful, first-rate road atlas that will enhance the travel
experience for the growing number of RV users and tent campers," said
Linda Profaizer, president, ARVC. "It not only helps travelers get from
point A to point B, but it also helps them make the most of the journey
from start to finish."
The scenic drives segment of the atlas is broken into five sections:
east, central, mountain, Pacific and Canada. Each scenic drive description
includes a map of the route, its mileage and the time it takes to
complete the drive. The listings suggest key historic locations, tourist
spots, museums and parks along the drive, and road notes with recommendations
on the best times of year to take the trip and when to travel
to avoid traffic.
All RV park and campground listings include contact information
and a description of amenities. Icons designate parks and campgrounds
at higher altitudes; those with telephone, television and modem access;
tent camping; group sites; handicap access; and gas and dump stations.
The towns in which the RV parks and campgrounds are located are
clearly marked on the road maps.
The national parks section presents 22 of the most popular parks,
including Yellowstone, Arches, Shenandoah and the Everglades. Profiles
include an overview map and photograph; suggested activities; contact
details; and information on entrance fees, accommodations, visitor centers,
key points of interest and recommended times of year to visit.
Rounding out this unique atlas is a mileage chart and driving time
map, climate maps, and a general information page with contact information
for tourism offices and border crossing regulations. The road
atlas is spiral bound and protected with a durable plastic cover. Road
data is provided by MapQuest.

New Display Demonstrates Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer
Going above and beyond the trade show norm, JT's RV Accessories
has created an innovative display to demonstrate its premier product.
The display, a 1/4 scale RV 5th wheel chassis, easily and effectively
conveys the benefits of the Strong
Arm™ Jack Stabilizer with eye-catching style.
The scaled down chassis is
made of rectangular steel tubing
and measures 24" x 84". An attention-
grabbing, red, powder coated
steel cart featuring polished stainless
steel on the front and polished
aluminum Tread Bright on top
doubles as a stand and transport.
The Strong Arm Jack
Stabilizer eliminates all front-to-back
and side-to-side movement of 5th wheel and travel trailer chassis
suspension. It permanently attaches to the jacks and chassis using a
unique system of swing bolts and clevis-end brackets and effortlessly
telescopes into place as the jacks are lowered. It easily attaches to scissor,
telescoping and electric jacks without any modifications.
